Executive Director of the bi-national environmental advocacy group Great Lakes United, Derek Stack has been working for ten years in the realm of environmental policy. Mr. Stack's academic focus on the human impacts on the environment coupled with a professional career working with a wide range of environmental groups ensures that GLU's activities maintain a strong coalition approach to advocacy and the development of campaigns rooted in progressive global environmental policy.

For over twenty years, Great Lakes United has led advocacy efforts in the Great Lakes basin, with core campaigns that include Invasive Species, Restoration & Clean Production. Current important issues include the development of the Annex 2001 Agreements, the Great Lakes Regional Collaborative and the Review of the Canada-US Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.

Derek Stack has been with Great Lakes United since July 2004.
